Proper companies leaving important messages usually leave a voicemail, so if there’s nada on there, it’s a red flag. If you get a call from an unknown number, just let it go to voicemail and don’t pick up. And NEVER press any numbers if you do end up answering - sometimes they say you owe money or there’s a warrant out for something like tax evasion, trying to scare you. They often work in pairs to try and freak you out into handing over cash.
