Properly annoyed that my mum got a call from this number, thank god she just hung up on them. When are the authorities going to sort these things out?

I rang my dad, he’s 80, and he’d have been proper worried if I hadn’t looked up this number here first. This kind of thing really needs to be put an end to, elderly folks are really vulnerable to these scams.

I got a call from someone called Michael Cole, said he was from the Inland Revenue. Bit worrying since I’m well over 80 and don’t owe them a penny. I’m pretty sure it was a scam, so I just hung up. This was the second time he’s called me in just one week.

So some dodgy number claiming to be from HMRC called me up saying I owed them money and would face legal action if I didn’t pay. Absolute rubbish, I’ve got my own accountant who handles my stuff. Don’t let these idiots scare you, just block and move on. Stay safe out there!

I got a call from that same number, 01438940647, and it was pretty intimidating. The guy claimed to be from HMRC about some fraud issue - just like what others have mentioned here. If anyone wants, I’ve saved the voicemail and can share it. Definitely gave me a scare!

Beware of deceitful phone scammers posing as HM Revenue and Customs! They’re making alarming threats about immediate arrest for fake tax debts, demanding instant payments to avoid dire consequences. If you happen to receive such a call, it's best to simply hang up-don't engage or press any buttons. And if by chance they’ve left a menacing voicemail, do not return their call. Rest assured, there are absolutely NO legal ramifications; no warrants for your arrest exist. It’s all just a ploy to instil fear and extract money. Stay safe and avoid their tricks!

Got a call from someone saying they were Michael Cole from HMRC. Rang them back out of curiosity, and it was the same bloke with an Indian accent. Nearly lost my temper and gave him a piece of my mind! These rip-off groups now seem to be using UK landline numbers - I reckon BT might’ve been compromised. Just a heads up, HMRC never rings you out the blue.
