I caught a glimpse of the call on my voicemail. There was this chap and a lady chortling away on the line. It was evident that they weren't representing any sort of professional outfit.

I've just dropped a note mentioning that this number called me, only to hang up shortly after. Curious, I tried phoning them back, this time from my mobile - a device they hadn’t used to reach me. An automated voice greeted me, claiming, "You’ve been contacted by the Energy Advice Centre. This call wasn’t urgent, and you’ll be phoned again in due course." Well, it seems I caught them in their little ruse by using a different phone! It’s utterly frustrating dealing with these nuisances; what on earth do they hope to achieve?

When she inquired if I was Ms ......, I replied in the affirmative, only for her to abruptly disconnect the call. How peculiar!
