It's mad how they keep at it. First, they kept ringing from this 028 Northern Ireland number, so we blocked it. Now, they're switching it up and calling from different numbers, like this one here. For the past three weeks, Yell.com has been nonstop ringing me. I have made it clear that I don’t want to be listed or have my details changed. It feels like all they want is to get my contact info for free, just so they can hassle me with more sales pitches down the line. I’ve said no about three times already, and I’m getting really annoyed. If they call again, I’m definitely going to report them.

I got a call out of the blue from some company trying to push their online marketing deal on me. I told them straight away I wasn’t interested, something about it didn’t feel right. But they haven’t stopped ringing me, even at odd hours of the night, a few times a day. Proper annoying!

Just signed up my new biz with the Yell free advert and since then they’ve called me around 15 times, mostly from Reading. Didn’t really expect them to push the upgrades so hard, bit too much if you ask me. To be fair, I probably should’ve told them I’m not interested. Some folks here seem dead certain this number isn’t actually Yell, so for now I’ve blocked it thinking it might be a scam. They did leave a quick voicemail once, but it was just faint background noise like a busy call centre.

The firm hibu used to be known as Yell Group plc. It's a big company that deals with directories and online services, based in Reading, Berkshire here in the UK. They don't just work here though, also have branches in places like the US, Spain, and even some South American countries like Argentina, Chile, and Peru. According to what I found on Wikipedia, their main office is in Reading and the current chief executive is David Eckert. They've been around for ages, since 1930.

I've been getting calls from this number on my mobile but they never leave a message, then moments later they ring my home phone. It's strange because I hardly ever share my landline number, so no idea how they got it. I've blocked the number on my mobile now so at least those calls stop, but the landline is still getting them. This all kicked off right after I put up an ad on Gumtree, so be careful if you do the same - it seems to invite these annoying calls.

This number's been ringing me loads, but they never bother putting a message through. If they can’t be bothered to leave a voice note, it clearly isn't something urgent!

This isn’t anything to do with Yell, they don’t advertise like that at all. It’s actually a scam where they grab your personal details and try to squeeze money out of you for nothing. They want hundreds of pounds with zero earnings. A survey of customers showed none had ever seen their advert on Yell - because it’s not even listed there, as they’re not connected to Yell at all. I’ve discovered the lot are based in Stevenage, and I’m determined to get back every penny they ripped off. The trouble with these scammers is they ring up anyone at random, but sometimes the person they bother isn’t one to be messed with. Don’t fall for it - just tell them to get lost!

I’ve received a call like this before and I’m pretty sure it’s definitely not yell.com. It could be some other company with a similar sounding name trying to copy them, but it’s not actually yell. Can someone please remove the comment claiming it is yell? That’s incorrect and unfair to a reputable business. Thanks a lot!

They claimed to be from tell.com and even said they’re working with Google now. Really pushy and a bit too forward. When I mentioned he seemed suspicious, he got all annoyed. He also said he was ringing from another number and couldn’t figure out why the number on my caller ID was different. Called me like three times within just 20 minutes.
