Got a call from 01438 361638 bright and early at 7:55 this morning. The bloke had a thick accent and insisted he was from BT. He told me my broadband was hacked and that all my downloads were putting a virus on my computer. I wanted to joke about having just had my flu jab but it felt too soon for a laugh. Didn’t say a word back and just hung up straight away.

Got a call from 01438 361638 at 7:38 in the morning. No voicemail was left, but I peeked at the 1571 and all I got was a single word - “goodbye.” Strange!

Just got a call from the same dodgy Stevenage number again, this time at 7:24 in the morning. When I picked up, they just went quiet and hung up on me. This is the exact same fake BT number that called me yesterday. Such a waste of time!

Got a call from someone called Alexander claiming my BT broadband was hacked. I told him I don’t even have BT, wished him a bad day and ended the call. The number showed an area code from Stevenage, which is where I live, but as far as I know, there aren’t any BT offices around here. Definitely a scam if you ask me.
