Got a call from what looked like my bank, but it was a total scam! The recorded voice claimed I’d paid £300 to Amazon and that £1100 was sent overseas. They urged me to press 1 to confirm or 2 to speak with customer service. Weirdly, the number might be linked to Stevenage Borough Council since their lines often begin with 242???!!! The day before, I got the same automated spiel from 01332926159.
