I informed the chap on the other end that I was aware of their tactics, and he promptly became rather aggressive and impolite. So, I decided to cut the conversation short and hang up.

You can spot these fraudsters from ages away! Why not have a bit of fun and see how long you can keep them chatting on the phone? It's quite entertaining! Tell them to hold on a moment while you switch on your computer, and really make a fuss about how it takes an eternity to boot up. Then, when they ask you to type 'eventvwr', just pretend you misheard them-those letters can certainly trip anyone up! When they inquire about any red 'errors' in the log, simply say you can’t see any at all. I’ve managed to string one along for over 8 minutes so far!

Received a call from someone claiming to be from a computer support service, and it felt rather dodgy. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!
