Despite my efforts to clarify, I struggled to comprehend the company’s name due to the caller’s thick accent. After requesting him to repeat it several times, I mentioned that I am on the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) list, and he should be aware that his company risks facing a fine for such unsolicited calls. To my surprise, he professed ignorance about TPS and the regulations surrounding cold calls. Frustrated, I advised him to familiarise himself with the relevant legislation before ending the conversation!

Got a call today about my gas boiler and central heating cover which is about to expire. Some guy called ‘SAM’ from the East claimed he could save me around £10 every month with his new deal. He even knew my address so guess he’s got some kind of database or something. I told him I don’t have central heating or a gas boiler at all. He said he must’ve been given incorrect info. Pretty sure the next step would’ve been asking for my bank details... These calls have started up again, bloody annoying!

I told them, “Alright, send me the info and I’ll check it out and compare.” Then I said goodbye. They snapped back rudely, “But the deal isn’t done yet!” I had a bit of fun acting all offended at their tone and messed around a bit more. Received a call on 12/09/23 from a lady who sounded Asian. She was trying to arrange for inspectors to come check my “spray-on roof insulation” for dangerous chemicals. I told her I don’t have any spray foam at all, then she switched to asking if I had fibreglass instead. I asked her what the problem actually was and why she was bothering me, and she seemed a bit lost for words.
