Earlier this week I got a message from a number I didn’t recognise, saying I could upgrade my phone. Then today, someone with a Welsh accent rang me about the same upgrade. When I told him I wasn't eligible and that it didn’t seem right, he just said “must be a mistake in our system” and I ended the call. I’ve heard about scams like this before where they trick you into signing a new contract with your card info, send the phone to your place, and then nick the delivery when it arrives.

I use an answerphone that asks callers to leave a message, but since most dont, I never call back.
