Usually when I hang up as soon as the call goes to answer, it’s because I reckon it’s a scam.

My landline just got a call from this number, it showed up as some international code 014323323. But as soon as my answer phone picked up, they hung up straight away.

On 4th July 2019, I got a call from someone named Rajit who said he was with BT, wanting to talk about a problem with my broadband. I’d missed a few calls from that number over the last few days. When I asked if it was about my work or personal broadband, he said it was my personal one. That felt odd since he phoned my work number, and my home internet’s actually with Sky. Plus, I hadn’t noticed any problems with my connection. He kept saying there was an issue and he needed to inform me, but wouldn’t give any details. I told him again I didn’t have any problems, and then he just hung up.

Got a call on my landline from 01432358823 but they didn’t leave any voicemail. I don’t know who that number is at all.

I got a call from someone saying they were with BT Openreach, but the number was showing from Bangalore, India. She mentioned there were some odd speed issues with my broadband and wanted to look at my router. I asked her to hang on for a sec while I checked my internet speed, which was fine. When I told her everything seemed okay and asked her to verify the IP addresses she was working with, she sounded quite annoyed that I’d asked her to wait. That’s when I said I didn’t think she was really from BT and ended the call.

Somebody rang saying they're from BT and there's an issue with my internet router. Even when I told them I’m not with BT, they kept going on. Pretty obvious it was a scam.
