They’ve been ringin me up at all sorts of times, claimin they can cut down my energy costs. Today, I fibbed a bit and said I’m with a different energy firm. The bloke said sorry, promised to take me off their list, and quickly hung up.

I was out for a walk and by the time I pulled my phone out of my bag it had already rung off. When I got home I checked this website and my doubts were confirmed, glad I didn’t pick up because these nuisance calls seem to be getting worse in 2020. I really don’t see why the law stopped doorstep cold calls but hasn’t done the same for phone calls. For an elderly person a random call can be just as unsettling as someone knocking on their door. With Boris in charge now, maybe it’s time to start a petition about it.

I got a call from this firm about my energy prices. When I asked straight up if it was a sales or marketing call, they dodged the question. I asked again and was told no, but then they started going on about how brilliant their company is. I said if you won’t be honest about why you’re ringing, why would I trust you to sign up? Then the person on the phone started shouting, saying I was being awful and rude and asked why I was treating her badly. She then wished me all sorts of bad things for the holidays, so I just ended the call there.
