Someone rang me saying they were from the bank's card department, either Mastercard or Visa, talking about a £600 charge from abroad. When I hit 1 to respond, all I heard was some strange noise in the background before the call just cut off. The number started with 01429, which I looked up and it's from Hartlepool, but the one thing that felt odd was the 0 at the beginning of the number. Felt dodgy to me!

Someone called saying they were from my bank's visa or Mastercard team about a £600 payment abroad. When I tried pressing 1 to listen more, all I could hear was strange background noise before the call just ended. The number began with 01429, which I think is Hartlepool, but the rest of the digits looked quite weird starting with a zero - felt fishy!
