Got a call from a lady with a foreign accent claiming she was from British Telecom. She said our internet wasn’t working right and asked if someone was using it to download movies or something. I told her to stop telling such rubbish and asked how she could try scamming people like that. She just shouted “**** you” and hung up on me!

Got a call from a woman saying she was from Visa about two suspicious charges that, apparently, lots of people get. I just kept saying "okay" and "really" to see what she would do next. She asked if the purchases were made in the US, which I said no to, and then she just abruptly ended the call. Didn’t even ask for any details from me. Honestly, I wish I’d told her she was a total scammer from Benchok before she hung up! :D

Just got another call from a scammer again. I told her she must’ve really disappointed her parents by choosing this path and maybe she should find a real job instead of wasting my time. Feels like these dodgy calls are all I’m getting lately. Such nasty people!

Absolutely! Earlier today, around 1 PM, I received a rather suspicious call from two Indian ladies alongside an Indian gentleman who claimed to represent the Fraud department over in Manchester. They had the audacity to request the first six digits of my credit card! Of course, I promptly rang the genuine Barclays Fraud department on 0800 151 0900, only to speak with another Indian chap! Quite the coincidence, isn't it? I relayed the entire tale to him and entrusted the matter into their capable hands. What a peculiar situation!

Got a call at around 1.41pm from 01428547936, someone saying there were two payments of £1100 and £300 taken out of my account. Total scam, watch out!

Got a call from a lady claiming to be from my bank’s fraud dept. She asked if I’d done two payments earlier today - one for £300 on Ebay and another for £1100 on some Google Play gift cards. She then wanted the first six numbers on my debit card to “check” the transactions and stop them. Obviously a scammer.

This number rang me up and there was a lady speaking with an Indian accent saying that there'd been two big withdrawals from my bank debit card. She then asked for my Postcode but when I wouldn't give it she just cut the call straight away. Seems like a total scam to me. Later I tried calling back, but a recorded message said the number isn't accepting calls right now!

I received a call from what sounded like an Asian woman claiming to be from Visa, expressing concern about my account. She mentioned a specific amount, to which I replied with a bit of dry wit, wishing her the best of luck in tracking it down, as it certainly wasn’t mine. After that, the line went completely silent - maybe she didn't quite get my sense of humour!

It's truly frustrating that we have to endure these invasive scam calls-it's high time someone clever devised a method to turn the tables on them! One would think there must be a bright spark out there with a brilliant solution. Is there an effective phone-blocking gadget available? Maybe something that emits a high-pitched sound to give these chancers a bit of a headache and deter them from bothering us!

Got a call from a bloke with some foreign accent, who hung up pretty quickly after a pointless chat. You'd think by now, everyone in developed countries would have had thousands of these annoying calls, but they somehow act like it’s a brand new thing. Totally time-wasting.

Got called around 11 in the morning and they used that usual line about £1100 charged on my credit card. Then they asked for the first six digits of the card, but I told them I’m not sharing that over the phone. Right after that, they just cut me off.

This week I got two calls telling me the same tale about some transactions. Today I thought I’d mess around a bit and pretended to go along with it. They asked for the first six digits of my card, but up to that point I was careful not to give anything away. When they specified it was my Barclays card, I told ’em I don’t have one (which might be true, might not). They just hung up straight after. At least I reckon I kept them busy for a bit instead of them trying to scam someone more vulnerable.

Got a random call from a woman with a South Asian accent claiming she was ‘Jenny’ from VISA. She said there were two suspicious transactions on my VISA this morning - one for £300 and another for £1100. She asked if I had made those payments. I asked her to tell me the last four digits of my card to be sure. She refused, saying they don’t share card details. I clarified it was just the last four digits, not the whole number. Before I knew it, ‘Jenny’ abruptly ended the call. Definitely a scam, so I’ve added the number to my block list.

I got a call from 01428547936 at about 1:19 this afternoon. A bloke with a gentle Irish accent said he needed to discuss something about my Visa account. Having been a CID officer in my retired days, I’m pretty clued up about these scam calls. I told him if he was legit, then Visa would already have my address and could just send me a letter. Right after that, he hung up.

I got a call just like everyone else saying there’d been two transactions adding up to £1300. They passed me to a ‘manager’ who said I should contact my bank but also told me the bank wouldn't catch it because it’s apparently someone inside the bank doing it. I ended the call and phoned my bank straight away, and luckily they told me there wasn't any suspicious activity on my accounts at all.

Had a rather peculiar encounter with a woman, purportedly from the visa fraud division. When I inquired about which bank she represented, she insisted that she wasn’t affiliated with any bank but was indeed calling from the visa fraud team. I pressed her on this and pointed out that if she were genuine, she'd surely be aware of which bank I used. It was at this point that she abruptly terminated the call. A classic case of a scam, if ever there was one!

I received a rather suspicious call from a woman with a thick accent, purporting to be from the fraud department of Barclays. She mentioned that two amounts - £300 and £1100 - had allegedly been withdrawn from my account this very morning. The thing is, I don’t even hold an account with Barclays! I decided to let her know that I would be reporting the incident, and that’s when she abruptly cut off the conversation. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Visa, said there was some dodgy stuff happening on my account and told me not to use online banking. Played along to see where it went and asked which bank they meant, they just randomly said Natwest. Didn’t ask for my account number at first, but they did ask for my postcode. Be careful with that info, they could find out where you live from it.

I got a call from someone with a weird accent saying they were from VISA about strange charges on my card. They asked for the first six digits of my credit card, but I refused to share them. Then I was transferred to a guy who sounded quite official, but I told him I’d call VISA directly to verify. After that, they warned me I only had 30 minutes left to stop the transactions. Got a call from someone claiming to be from the bank saying they spotted some dodgy activity on our card and wanted to know if we approved the charges. My wife was a bit suspicious, said we'd check through our banking app ourselves. Got a call from someone claiming to be from the bank, saying there’d been some dodgy activity on my card and asking if we wanted to approve the transactions. My wife wasn’t having it and told them we’d just check through our banking app ourselves. They said we couldn’t access the app, but obviously that sounded fishy. I got a call saying there was suspicious stuff going on with my debit card, but they never mentioned the bank. I just ended the call right then and there.
