Got a call from 01427848626 at about 1:30pm on 7th Jan 2020. The voice, sounded a bit Asian or American, claimed my bank account was going to be charged £39.99 to renew Amazon Prime. They said if I didn’t want this, I should call back on my home phone by pressing option 1. I reckon this is a scam trying to get me to call back and rack up crazy return call fees. Also, I don’t even have Amazon Prime!

Never share personal details if you didn’t make the call, even if it sounds genuine. Nowadays, fraudsters can fake caller ID to make it look like your bank or creditor is ringing. If you’re unsure and reckon it could be your actual credit card company, just tell them you’ll ring back. Scammers often push you to keep talking right then and there.

Got a call from someone with an American accent trying to convince me to start an Amazon Prime subscription, which I don’t even use or need! I’m pretty sure their next move would have been to ask for my card info... Total scam, so I just blocked the number.
