I received a rather alarming call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, alleging that I was involved in tax evasion and even went so far as to threaten me with an arrest warrant. It was enough to raise my eyebrows! I promptly decided to block the number!

complete con they just phoning out of the blue, threatening you'll get arrested. if H.M.R.C need to ask you anything, they'll send a letter, not call you out of the blue like that. don't give them any details, it's a scam for sure.

Got a call saying I was gonna be arrested for some fraud, just like loads of others have said. Told them I’d report it to HMRC right away. I'm in my thirties and it really unsettled me, so I can't imagine how scary it must be for older folks or those who might be more vulnerable.

My old mum and dad got a phone call from this number saying they’ve been accused of fraud and that there’s a warrant for their arrest. They told them to press 1 to sort it out. Luckily, they didn’t press anything but it really scared them. I looked it up here and was able to calm them down, explaining it’s just a scam. It’s so upsetting how these calls can frighten older people.

Got a call from some robotic woman claiming to be HMRC, saying I’m gonna get nicked for fraud and then “hung, drawn and quartered” or something daft like that. If they’re really planning to arrest me, well, I’m just gonna sit tight and see what happens. Total rubbish if you ask me, clearly a scam.

When I got back home I looked through my missed calls and saw this number was the last one to ring, but no voicemail was left. Something felt weird because the number had 12 digits, not the usual 11 for UK numbers? That set off a few red flags for me so I decided to look it up on who-called.co.uk. Brilliant site honestly, I always check numbers there if I’m unsure. Going through the feedback from others about this number, it’s clear as day it’s a scam call, nothing less. Would seriously advise anyone not to pick up if you get a call from here - I’m certainly not answering it!

At about 1:20 pm on 14th July 2020, I got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, threatening me with arrest. It seemed quite scary at first, but I wasn’t convinced it was genuine.

i got a robocall from a lady claiming to be with hmrc saying there was a fraud case against me and the cops were involved. they wanted me to press one to talk to someone but i just hung up. tried calling back the number they gave but it didn’t go through or didn’t recognise it. i've let the hmrc fraud department know about it and will be telling the police fraud unit as well.
