I just knew it was dodgy, and when I called him out, he got all defensive and couldn’t even tell me where he got my details from. He tried asking why he’d bother ringing just to make a quick buck. I turned it back on him and when he had no answer, I told him to jog on and slammed the phone down. He’s been calling pretty much every day since. Finally picked up to call him out. Total scammer, no doubt.

They said they’d remove me from their list, but told me my number can only be taken off the Club La Costa database if I get in touch with them directly, which I'm not keen on doing at all.

The caller claimed to be from the Consumer Advice Centre and warned me about numerous firms ringing up offering to help with timeshare issues, saying I should only deal with the main parent company and avoid those unsolicited calls making big promises. I never actually said whether or not I owned a timeshare. So, at first it seemed like a helpful call, but I reckon if I’d kept talking, it might have turned into a sales spiel.
