I got a call from a bloke with an African accent claiming to be from Belling. He said there was a problem with my gas hob and that I hadn’t fixed it. Thing is, I’d already had my Belling gas hob repaired for a major fault a couple months ago. When I told him this, he just said sorry and ended the call. If you’ve got a Belling hob bought in the last 4 years, you should get in touch with them right away - there’s a real fire hazard or even worse risk.

I received a rather dubious call from someone purporting to be with Samsung Mobile. The caller claimed that there were issues with my phone apps and insisted I reset them. Quite alarmingly, she addressed me by my first name! I decided not to entertain the conversation any further and hung up promptly. It raised my suspicions!

They keep ringing both my mobile and landline non stop, total scam, and they just don't stop!

This number really is legit and it's about gas safety. However, scammers have been faking this number, so please don’t share any personal details if you get a call from it. Make sure to inspect your Samsung and Russell Hobbs devices and have a look online. Don’t just brush it off - it could be dangerous. If unsure, ring the official number back. There was a Blue Badge comment here about this a few weeks ago that explains everything!

Initially, we figured it might be a scam. Someone called from this number saying there was an issue with our Belling gas hob. We hung up but later looked it up on the supplier's website to see if there was any recall. Turns out, there definitely was one! So we rang the 0800 number on their site to arrange a free check-up with British Gas. I’d say it’s best not to just dismiss these calls.

Today, my phone popped up with a warning saying 'Possible Spam'. I picked up, and some bloke with an Asian accent introducing himself as Adam started telling me my O2 SIM was hacked and that I’d lose all my data or whatever. I was like, ‘Seriously, Adam? What’s going on then?’ Before he could carry on with his nonsense, I just told him to get lost and hung up, then blocked the number straight away!

Keep getting these annoying scam calls on my home phone. I’ve told them I’m not interested but they just keep ringing. Really frustrating!

I received a missed call earlier today, coincidentally just after I had an urgent repair sorted by British Gas due to a dodgy valve on my Belling gas hob. This might be a follow-up call regarding that issue. I had received an email about it beforehand, so if you own a Belling hob, definitely don’t brush it off. If the call turns out to be something other than arranging a repair, I’d suggest hanging up.

They rang me up and asked if I was (my name), I said yeah I am, then all I got was a quick "Hello" before they just ended the call.

I had to ring up about a serious issue with my gas hob to get an emergency engineer sent over. Within a day of calling, British Gas had someone at my place swapping out a valve on my hob, which I bought last year 2022. Don’t brush this off!

I've been having issues with my gas hob, so I made a call to sort out an urgent inspection. To my surprise, within less than a day, British Gas turned up to replace a valve on the hob I bought last year. Don't take it lightly; it's crucial to get these things sorted!

Got a call earlier from a Ringwood area code while I was in South East Wales. Didn’t answer since the number was unfamiliar, and it went straight to voicemail - didn’t leave any message though.

This number keeps ringin me up. I do have a Russell Hobbs gas hob but the only contact I got was a letter from Russell Hobbs, tellin me to book an engineer through the British Gas website, which I did. The appointment went ahead and they fitted the new safety valve to the hob. No one ever called me on the phone, all the info came either through letters or the website. So, I’m not pickin up this call - feels a bit dodgy to me.

This number rang me up but I couldnt understand what it was about, the lady left a voicemail but she was whispering so I couldnt make out anything. I tried calling back but nobody picked up.

This number is definitely genuine. I own a Russell Hobbs gas hob that’s been flagged in a safety recall and hadn’t got around to fixing it yet. The call I got was to set up a visit from a British Gas engineer to sort out the faulty component.

This has got to be a scam for sure! They said it was Samsung, but I don’t own any Samsung stuff, so that’s pretty fishy to me.

It seems there’s been a right mix-up with someone posing as Russell Hobbs. I’ve had a few instances where they just keep chirping ‘hello’ in various accents, over and over again. Quite baffling, really!

Haha loads of older folks reckoning this is a scam. Actually, certain Russel Gas Hob models are being recalled for safety reasons. Different gas suppliers, like those in Britain and Scotland, have hired this firm to help organise engineer appointments. If they’ve already been to your place, you can just ignore any calls. If not, then don’t. Gas can be deadly, so stop acting daft!

Got a ring from this number the other day. Seems it's a firm working for Russell Hobbs about one of their glass gas hobs. They've apparently found a safety problem and want to send someone round to have a look. The call was just to set up a time for the guy to come and check yours out.

Got a call recently from this number about setting up safety checks for gas hobs that Samsung supposedly provided. I already had a safety visit done by Scottish Gas, and I’m pretty sure Samsung would know about it too. Feels like just another spam call to me.

This number kept ringing me the past few days. When I called back, it was some kind of gas product helpdesk or something along those lines. I ended up messing around with them for about 15 minutes - if they’re wasting my time, I’m gonna waste theirs too.

This number has rung me around six times so far, but it always cuts off quickly before I can pick up. Sounds like some kind of auto-dialler to me. I haven’t bothered answering any of the calls and don’t plan to either. They haven’t left any voicemail messages. One call came through at 10 in the morning on a Sunday, which makes me think it’s definitely not a legit caller. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now. After getting six calls over four days, I’d say that’s pretty much harassment.
