I got a call about membership renewals from someone claiming to be RHS. They asked for my membership number and other info, which I gave before setting up a direct debit. But then I started getting a bit suspicious after reading some comments here, thinking maybe it was a fraudster trying to scam me. To be safe, I decided to ring the RHS office in London myself. A lady there ran through the details of the call and assured me the person who rang was genuine and that my direct debit was properly arranged with them. So all ended up being above board thankfully.
