I've been doing a bit of sleuthing on this matter. When you opt in for services and tick those boxes for Terms and Conditions, it's often buried in the fine print that they can share your information with third parties. Subsequently, they end up selling your data off like it's a commodity. I had a mate who was in sales and he backed this up for me. Alas, the only option we really have is to continuously block these nuisances.
