Got a call earlier today, and after a brief pause, an automated message started saying something about “bank security” and some suspicious charges on my card. I didn’t hang about and ended the call straight away. It was obvious nonsense - they never mentioned the bank’s name and didn’t even ask for my name. I’ve had these dodgy calls before, so it was a dead giveaway. What really made me suspicious was the local number they used - totally fake, obviously.
