This is definitely a dodgy operation. When you give them a ring, you end up racking up an outrageous charge for every second you’re on the line. If someone gives you a buzz and then abruptly ends the call, it's a sure sign that you’re being taken for a ride. Legitimate callers would actually bother to leave a voicemail.
