The number showed up as a Halifax one, so I picked up since I’m local to Halifax. The guy on the line said he was from Amazon's verification team. His accent was a really thick Asian one, nothing like any Yorkshire accent I’ve heard before. I’m pretty clued up about UK Asian accents and this didn’t match at all, felt like it was definitely an international call, so I just blocked it straight away thinking it was a scam.

The call showed as a Halifax number, which made me pick up since I live there. The guy on the line said he was from Amazon’s verification team. But his accent was really heavy Asian, nothing like the local accents round here - no Yorkshire twang at all. I’ve dealt with loads of UK Asian voices, and this one was different, sounded like it was from abroad. Needless to say, I blocked it right away, felt like a total scam.
