Got a call from this number around 10.29 this morning while I wasn’t home. My husband’s got some health problems and doesn’t really get that these calls are dodgy. My husband has a funny way of dealing with them - he pretends someone is at the door and leaves the phone off the hook so the caller can’t hang up. Got a call from that number out of the blue, claiming I had an insurance plan I'd been paying every year since 2013. The person kept telling me it was time to renew and that I’d already paid £129 last year. I kept telling them I didn’t have any policy with them but she was really persistent, eventually hanging up when she realised I wasn’t budging. Weirdly, even though she said I had a policy, she didn’t even know my right address. Definitely felt like a scam.

Had a call today about my insurance renewal. First, it was some Asian bloke, but I told him I wanted a word with his manager. Then, some Cockney geezer popped up, just as pushy as the first. I asked for some info to be posted over and before I knew it, he just hung up on me. Proper cheeky lot.

This happens to me every day! I get this cheerful sing-song lady going on about renewing my washing machine, drier, telly and other stuff I don’t even own. When I said I knew it was a con, the line just went quiet like I was chatting to no one... Honestly, these folks are scum!!

Absolutely dodgy! They claimed I qualified for a discount because I hadn’t claimed any repairs on my British Gas Homecare plan. When they asked for my debit card details to process the refund, I ended the call straight away since I never pay that way. Tried ringing back later, but the line just gave a never-ending beep. Getting through to British Gas about this is a nightmare - loads of barriers and no proper person picking up. Eventually gave up trying!

My mum got a call from someone saying my dad, who's passed away, had an insurance deal and she’d been fraudulently collecting money from it for ages. The bloke even warned her he’d call the police on her. Luckily, she just ended the call straight away.

A lady who wouldn’t give her name called saying she needed to update my info for some "Homecare" thing she said I’d been paying for since 2013 (which is rubbish). When I tried to ask for more info, she got all defensive and then tried to bribe me with a discount because I supposedly had no claims. Totally dodgy, definitely a scam.

So this place Homeserve rings me up, chatting about some insurance for my electrical stuff at home, saying it's time to renew (which I never signed up for in the first place). They tried to sweeten the deal, saying as a loyal customer I’d get cheaper rates and all that jazz... then straight onto asking for my bank info. Luckily, I keep a referee's whistle handy for dodgy calls like this, and I just gave it a good blow - reckon I nearly burst his eardrums!

Had a call from a guy named Ethan, said he could knock my premium down to £90 for my white goods and Sky insurance if I paid with a card. When I asked him what county I was supposedly living in, he couldn’t even tell me. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from this number claiming my fridge and washing machine insurance was due for renewal. They said there was a special offer if I renewed right away. They asked for my bank details to process the payment straight away. PLEASE, SOMEONE REPORT THIS NUMBER BEFORE ANYONE FALLS FOR THIS SCAM!

Got a ring from Homecare about my policy renewal, saying I could get a discount since I hadn’t made any claims in the past year. They couldn't specify which appliance the policy was for, though. The price they quoted didn’t match what I actually pay. They insisted they needed to update my info to give me the discount, but I told them all my details were fine and asked them to send confirmation in writing instead. They just said thanks and hung up on me. Feels like a total scam!

I recently had new kitchen appliances fitted, but when I asked her for the year on the policy as some sort of proof, she couldn’t answer. Be careful and don’t share any personal details!
