This morning at about 9, I got a call from someone saying they were an engineer offering an energy report for my house since I’m over 50. I told them I wasn’t interested and ended the call pretty quickly.

She already had my name and address, which was weird because I'm ex-directory, signed up to the TPS, and not on the electoral open register. When I questioned her about where she got my info, she promised she'd take it off their list.

Received a ring from this number earlier and they claimed they needed to do some emissions testing on our home. Apparently, it’s because folks over 50 have to get this done. At first, I thought it might be some window company checking if I needed replacements or double glazing done. They even asked if my windows were more than 15 years old. I didn’t bother, just hung up straight away.

You really need to watch out for this one. The guy claimed he was from an energy firm checking windows for tests. It wasn’t until I shared my address that he then asked if I lived alone, which immediately made me suspicious. I ended up contacting Trading Standards about it. When I looked up Eco Glaze, the only company by that name around here has actually gone bust. I’m definitely going to report this to the police as well.

Somebody rang from this company asking if we wanted a heat loss check around here. I told the bloke we already have full insulation. Then he said it was just a follow up to make sure the system's doin its job and that no heat’s slipping out the windows. To get him off the phone, I said we’d put in new windows recently, cheers!

Got a call on 29/05 from someone claiming to be from the Energy Care Centre, said they were following up on an earlier chat (which I never had). They wanted to arrange a time for a mandatory inspection. I told them to buzz off and not bother me again. Just as I was about to hang up, she threatened that I was breaking the law by not having one done.

Got a really odd call outa nowhere, some bloke said he was with Energy Care and mentioned I ought to’ve received a letter from them. He was going on about checking for energy loss and stuff. I told him we'd already had that checked ages ago, but suddenly he started doubting me, even joked I was from some different planet or something. Next thing, he just hung up on me! Proper strange.
