Definitely a call centre, loads of noise in the background before some bloke with an Asian accent started chatting, so I just ended the call, sick of these cold calls.

I was informed that they had recently completed a significant project in Huddersfield, where they installed fascia boards. They mentioned having extra supplies available at a discounted price. However, when I explained that I already had new fascia boards fitted, they abruptly ended the conversation.

Got a call from some guy claiming we’d talked before (pretty sure we hadn’t), said he wanted to check my walls. I told him no cheers, he asked loads of questions but was quite polite. When I said I wasn’t up for it, he kept pushing for a reason. Anyway, blocked his number now. We’ve been on the TPS for ages, but it seems that means nothing as these telemarketers just ignore it completely.

It appears to be a recurring issue similar to previous reports. I contacted them four years ago to inquire about my roof and gutters. However, I had not. They were aggressive and rude in their approach, even asking about my future plans for home repairs, which is frankly none of their concern! If you ignore them, they will likely continue to bother you. Once again, I am registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and they should not be contacting me at all. He asked if I’d seen some letter they supposedly sent, but I told him I never got anything. Then he started going on about checking the outside walls for damp because of the harsh winter. I told him we’ve had worse winters in the 70 years this house has been here and no damp has ever been a problem. Complete con artist, and I told him exactly that before he hung up.

I got a call from this number on 1st Feb, some bloke (not very polite at all) asked if my house had wooden or plastic gutters. When I asked why, he told me not to be rude! He said his company was planning to call every home in my town on Friday. I told him they must have loads of staff to cover every house in just one day. Then I hung up. Calls like this are really off-putting, and I worry about older folks living alone getting scared by this kind of behaviour. I've been on the TPS for years but still get calls, sometimes more than one a day.

Some bloke rang saying he was from BHQ, claiming my mum had gotten in touch about swapping her garage door a couple years back (no way, she sold the car yonks ago and never really planned on changing the door). He kept pushing to get her to chat more about it. The oddest thing was he even knew the colour of her door! Luckily, after hanging up, she jotted down the caller’s info just in case!

The husband was extremely rude to his wife and claimed that he wanted to speak to me, even though I had never spoken to him before. The wife ended the call abruptly, but the husband immediately called back, insisting on talking to me. The wife shouted for me to come to the phone, but the caller hung up before I could get there. Got a call from a bloke who sounded nice enough, using my name and saying they were doing a survey on how porous my walls were. He mentioned I should’ve got a letter about it and that the company were doing work in my area right now. He made a point of saying they weren’t selling anything and even claimed to be registered with some crime prevention scheme! I asked for their website but he couldn’t provide one, said he’d only been there a week. He said he was calling from Leeds, but the number showed up as Halifax. Seemed a bit fishy to me.

Got a call this morning asking if my soffits were wooden (I just had new soffits put in about 3 months ago, thought it might be a follow-up). I asked straight away, "Is this a sales call?" They said no, then launched into their spiel, saying stuff like "no obligation" - I cut them off and said, "That's definitely a sales call," and hung up immediately. Pretty pleased with our windows. We noticed some places offered them for less, but you could definitely see where they’d cut corners. Got a call today from someone claiming they were chasing up a letter they supposedly sent me a couple of weeks back. Thing is, I never got any letter, so I asked them to verify the address it was meant for. Guess what? They just hung up on me!

We had some budget-friendly windows put in not long ago and honestly, we're quite happy with how they turned out. Our only issue was with the big bay windows - we wanted the centre bit to be one big glass panel. Unfortunately, someone walking past knocked over the downstairs one, breaking a pane. The guys installed it as it was and then got another one on order. Since it was a bit of an odd size, we thought it would take ages but surprisingly it showed up and got fitted in only two days. Overall, we're really satisfied, and the cost was pretty reasonable too.
