They were just trying to sell us a loan, claiming we’d been pre-approved. Oddly enough, they had our previous address from a few years back. They insisted we ring a premium rate number starting with 090, which charges £1.50 a minute. It honestly felt like a scam to us. Steer clear of these loan companies! They’re nothing but loan sharks. I started getting relentless calls from them almost immediately after I submitted applications for loans with Provident Finance and Vanquis Bank (for a credit card). I reckon one of these firms must have mishandled our personal information, allowing the sharks to get hold of it. What a right hassle!

They kept pushing these bank "compensation" deals, saying they'd take 39% out of what you supposedly got mis-sold by your bank. Some bloke rang up saying he was from a consumer firm, going on about money I supposedly owed from some old thing or accident. Even when I told him to shut up and said I wasn’t interested, he just kept jabbering away. I even mentioned I was in Dubai and the call was costing me, but he just wouldn’t quit. Eventually, I had to hang up while he was still going on and on.

I just had a call from these folks claiming to be from Discover Finance. I've never sought a loan in my life, so it's quite concerning. I suggest you all tread carefully! They're probably targeting individuals who are having a tough time obtaining credit, and I wouldn't be surprised if they throw in some sneaky broker fees. Got a call today from someone claiming I had money waiting from an old bank account. They kicked off by saying "We're the consumer helpline and just sharing some info with you." They tried to convince me I might be owed cash from a loan way back in 2008. Then, they passed me over to a “mate” who wanted to ask loads of questions. I told them I was busy and just hung up. About 30 minutes later, the same guy rang again, but from a different number - 01216472889 - said his name was Ashley, and asked what happened when I got passed onto his colleague. Proper scam artists, watch out for these dodgy b*****ds!

I got fed up after getting hit with about 9 calls all pushing different stories, so eventually I lost my patience and told the bloke on the line to jog on rather rudely. After that, he started messing about with my phone, calling and hanging up four more times, even when I picked up he just dropped the call and dialled back. I was stunned when I looked online and saw loads of others complaining about the same harassment but still no action has been taken. This firm clearly thinks they’re winning by tricking honest folks, so why is no one cracking down on them? Who’s actually holding these companies accountable? Don’t they pay any kind of tax? Are they allowed to carry on like this? It’s just not right, something really needs to be done to put a stop to this rubbish!

Got a ring from 02081029496, some bloke banging on about finance stuff. I told her to "go multiply yourself!" and the daft woman just laughed like some crazy hyena. Then this Halifax number called me twice more. When I picked up, all I could hear was heavy breathing, no one answered any of my questions. When I asked who they were, he used my name and then asked if I'd ever had loans with any banks. Turns out I have in the past, so I questioned where he got this info from. He said they source it from various places and were trying to help reclaim some money the banks might’ve taken wrongly. I told him to call me back since I’m on a pay-as-you-go number. Pretty soon, he rang me from 01422373222. I looked up this number and it’s supposedly a London one. He even mentioned my old address, which really raised my suspicions. I told him I’d speak with my lawyer before continuing any chat. He said he’d call again. Later, I tried ringing that second number and got an automated voice saying it was Discover Finance - not Reactivemedia as the guy claimed. Honestly, I’m fed up with all these calls about loans, PPI, and random marketing stuff. It’s making me feel unsafe and I don’t know what to do. Should I report this to the police?
