They were just trying to sell us a loan, claiming we’d been pre-approved. Oddly enough, they had our previous address from a few years back. They insisted we ring a premium rate number starting with 090, which charges £1.50 a minute. It honestly felt like a scam to us. Steer clear of these loan companies! They’re nothing but loan sharks. I started getting relentless calls from them almost immediately after I submitted applications for loans with Provident Finance and Vanquis Bank (for a credit card). I reckon one of these firms must have mishandled our personal information, allowing the sharks to get hold of it. What a right hassle!

Some bloke rang up saying he was from a consumer firm, going on about money I supposedly owed from some old thing or accident. Even when I told him to shut up and said I wasn’t interested, he just kept jabbering away. I even mentioned I was in Dubai and the call was costing me, but he just wouldn’t quit. Eventually, I had to hang up while he was still going on and on.

I received a call today from someone claiming that I was owed money from a previous bank account. The person introduced themselves as the consumer helpline and informed me that they were simply providing information. They then convinced me that I may have some money owed to me from a loan in 2008. They handed me over to a "colleague" who started asking me a series of questions. However, I told them that I was too busy and abruptly ended the call. To my surprise, the same person called me again thirty minutes later from a different number - 01216472889 - and identified himself as Ashley. He asked about my experience with his colleague. It is important to be cautious of these scamming individuals! They are completely despicable.

Eventually, I lost my patience and politely asked the irritable man on the other end to leave me alone. However, he continued to prank call my mobile phone another 4 times, even hanging up when I answered and calling back immediately. I was shocked when I searched online and discovered numerous complaints from others who were also being harassed. It's alarming that no action has been taken to address this issue. It seems this company is deceiving hard-working individuals and getting away with it. Who should hold them accountable? Don't they pay taxes? Why are they allowed to continue these practices? This is completely unjust and needs to be stopped immediately!

There may be a potential PPI claim as I was told that I hung up on them the day before, even though that never happened. The interesting thing is that they called me from three different numbers. When I asked why they were using different numbers, they explained that it's because the calls get routed through various servers.
