This was clearly a scam attempt. The guy tried to convince me that he could sort out a free windscreen repair if I went through him. Turns out it wasn’t just the windscreen and actually involved someone else’s insurance. He even claimed to be from my insurance company, which I’ve never made any claim with. I rang up my insurer and they confirmed it wasn’t them at all!

Somebody rang me claiming to be from Many Pets about my car insurance application, asking for my personal info as a security check. Luckily I remembered I’d already got my car insurance sorted and that Many Pets normally only email me about my cat, so I just hung up straight away.

A man rang me at 7:50pm on 22/03/2021 claiming it was just a courtesy call to check if we were satisfied with our insurance. He spoke so softly I couldn’t make out the name of the insurance firm he mentioned. Since we’d just renewed our car insurance, I simply replied, “Yes, we’re happy,” and the conversation ended politely. He didn’t ask for any details, but it raised doubts for me why a business would call after hours. So I looked up the number of our actual insurer and it was completely different.

I received a call on the 13th of September claiming that I had been involved in some sort of 'incident' on the 10th of May in Bradford. The thing is, I’ve never even set foot in Bradford! The caller got all agitated and started suggesting it could be a mix-up with the registration number. Honestly, what cheek! Is this some kind of dodgy accident scheme?
