When I asked which employer and how long ago, she wanted me to confirm my full name but messed up the order. I told her she probably had the wrong person and I reckon it was a scam, so I said I’d be reporting them to the proper authorities.

Like a few others have said, it’s a woman speaking with an Asian accent acting like she’s some big deal from HMRC, trying to frighten folks by saying there’s going to be legal trouble over tax evasion. Don’t buy into their nonsense. Obviously, nothing’s being done to shut them down, and they’ll keep switching up the caller ID to dodge any blocks. Someone claiming to be from HMRC called me and already knew my last name, but kept pushing me to say my full name out loud. Definitely one of those HMRC scams coming from somewhere in South Asia. Don’t panic, if you’re not up for it, just put the phone down, they really can't hurt you. I had a bit of fun messing with them, said I’d settle the debt with biscuits, then carrots - they said they don’t take carrots or biscuits. Bit of a letdown since I had a bunch of carrots going spare. Never give out any info, just end the call. Honestly, it’s a rubbish situation. Proper lowlifes. Shame, really.

Got a call from 01419315574. The bloke said he was Officer Patrick Houston from HMRC's legal team. His accent sounded foreign. He claimed I’d dodged tax and owed £987.00. Said if I didn’t pay up, I’d be arrested and they’d take my bank account, house and possessions. I just told him to come and arrest me then. What freaked me out was he knew my postcode, even though I never gave it. Thankfully I’m aware HMRC don’t ring like this, but I worry about folks who might get caught out by these scams.

Got 5 calls from this number saying it was HMRC about owed income tax. I rang the inland revenue and they said they never call like that, so it’s definitely a scam. Some bloke rang me sayin he was from HMRC and that I owed £400. Asked if I had a criminal record or summat. I told him there’s no way I’m getting caught out by this scam.

A woman with an Asian accent called me, and you could hear loads of noise in the background, so it was obviously a call centre. She said she was from HMRC and claimed there was a warrant out for my arrest because of unpaid tax. I asked her how she could live with herself doing this scam, then told her to never call me again.

They keep ringing non stop and told my missus she’d get nicked if she didn’t pay some extra tax - honestly, it’s ridiculous. But seriously, why can’t the cops track these lot down and put a stop to it?

Got loads of calls from these lot pretending to be HMRC, saying I hadn’t paid enough tax! Even told them it was a scam and that they were actually calling from Glasgow! The woman just kept going on about how I’d underpaid and that there was a warrant out for me! I just laughed and told her they’re being recorded and tracked now, and I wasn’t giving them a penny! So annoying, it’s not just a time waster, makes me worry how many people, especially older folks, actually get tricked and hand over money! Don’t get why the government ain’t doing more to stop this happening!!!

Got a call from an Asian man, sounded really pushy, telling me HMRC had put a warrant out for my arrest. He said someone would be coming round to take the money.

Just got a call from a guy named Peter Wilson, said he was from HMRC. He told me I hadn’t paid enough tax and that I owed over £900. Asked for my date of birth to keep talking, then things got tense and he started threatening court. Then the line just cut off. Not sure what to do now.

I keep receiving phone calls from people purporting to be from HMRC, insisting I have outstanding taxes and that there’s a warrant for my arrest. I explained to them that I had already contacted HMRC directly and that they never reach out via telephone. They replied, claiming that I must have spoken to a clerk and that they were from the legal department. Their manner becomes quite unpleasant and confrontational before they abruptly end the call.

Got a call from Emily Brown sayin I’ve committed tax fraud and some officer’s on their way to either collect money or arrest me.

Got a call saying I had an arrest warrant out for unpaid taxes. They said they were from HMRC but couldn’t verify my NI number. Told me to buy gift cards to clear the debt and stop the warrant. Then claimed they’d sent legal papers 5 days ago but I missed them, and now the warrant was active since it’s been over 60 days. Oddly, they said no cop would come to my place to arrest me.

I've been receiving continuous calls from this number for the past few days. Haven't picked up yet, but I reckon it's from Glasgow. We’re registered with the TPS, but I strongly suspect it might be a scam.

01419315574 rings me nearly every day claiming to be from BT saying I owe money on my landline. I told them to speak to my actual provider as I’m already paying them, but they just kept going. It was some rude bloke with an Asian accent who I politely told to bugger off, yet the calls keep coming, at least one a day. Today no one even picked up. I've now reported it to Ofcom and hopefully they’ll sort this scammer out. Wish they’d lock them up for good.

Received a call from this number claiming I owe £935 in taxes, warning that sheriff's officers would come round tonight to collect the money. When I pressed for the first name of the individual supposedly responsible for this debt, they couldn’t provide it. They claimed it was for overdue taxes, but I reckon it’s a right con. Total nonsense!

Someone rang claiming to be from HMRC, saying police were on their way because I hadn't paid my income tax. I just hung up straight away. Still waiting for the police to show, they were supposed to come months back after the last time they called.

Just like loads of others, I got a call from an Indian bloke pretending to be from HMRC saying I owed them money for unpaid taxes. He kept going on about how I had to pay up and said HMRC had already sent me a letter but I hadn’t replied. I wasn’t falling for any of that and told him if he was really from HMRC, to send me a letter in the post. Plus, it was a Saturday - HMRC don’t work weekends! Honestly, it’s disgraceful that these scammers are still allowed to carry on with this sort of rubbish.

I rang my nan earlier today; she's 94 and quite feeble. Some vile piece of work had alarmed her with menacing threats about being arrested unless she stumped up £700 for HMRC. I attempted to ring the number myself but had no luck getting through. However, when I showed my grandmother these messages, an immense wave of relief washed over her. So, a massive thank you for providing such a marvellous resource!

Got a call earlier today from someone who sounded like they were Asian, claiming to be from HMRC. They said there was a warrant for my arrest over unpaid taxes. I told them I was going to report them to the police, then they suddenly said they were the police and got really rude before cutting me off.

Someone rang asking for my husband by name but when I told her he wasn't around, she wanted to know who I was. I asked her the same and then she started laughing, sounded like a bunch of people in some call centre. Then she just hung up. It's pretty frightening to think this is some scam, tricking innocent people who don't know about sites like this.

Got a call today from someone who said her name was Mary Nelson, sounded like she had an Indian accent. She claimed she was ringing from HMRC in London. I pointed out that 0141 is a Glasgow area code, but she just brushed it off and said I owed back taxes. Like loads of others, I told her to get lost! It’s scary how many folks must be getting caught out by this rubbish!

I just got a really scary call from 01419315574, they insisted they were calling from HMRC and demanded to speak to my wife by name. They claimed there was a prosecution case open against her for unpaid taxes and said a squad would visit later to collect £500.87. They were really aggressive and intimidating. I quickly ended the call and blocked the number. After that, I contacted HMRC’s fraud department and also reported it to Action Fraud.

I’ve received numerous calls from individuals purporting to be representatives of HMRC, insisting that I have outstanding tax or national insurance fees to settle. They’ve demanded my personal details and when I hesitate to share, they threaten me with a warrant for my arrest and say the police will soon be on my doorstep. It’s quite evident that these callers are not affiliated with HMRC and, in fact, seem to be of Asian descent. During the latest call, I was shockingly told to “get lost.” It’s becoming exceedingly bothersome. I plan to notify the authorities about this nonsense.

Got three calls from this number earlier today. The first two times, nobody said a word. On the third call, the person asked for me by name, which they got right. Then she claimed to be from HMRC, saying I owed taxes and would face legal action if I didn’t pay up. I just let her ramble on a bit, but didn’t give any info and ended up hanging up. Total scam. Honestly, they deserve to be found and dealt with properly.

Some bloke phoned me pretending he was from HMRC, saying there was an arrest warrant out because I hadn’t paid my tax. I told him HMRC normally gets in touch through email and told him to send me a letter instead.

I just got a call from some bloke claiming to be from HMRC, sounded Asian, saying I had a warrant out for tax dodging. Funny thing is, real cops don’t usually give you a heads up before arresting you, right? Would be handy if they did though, haha. I just had a laugh and told the guy to jog on, threw in a cheeky “go back to Gujarat” for good measure. Hope he got the message!

My elderly mum got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, they threatened to arrest her over some unpaid tax. It really shook her up. Honestly, I can’t understand how these scammers live with themselves.
