This bloke said his name was "Hari Jones" or something similar, but it was really hard to understand him because of his thick accent. He claimed he could help charities lower their fuel bills. When I asked for any contact details so someone else could get in touch, he just cut the call and wouldn’t give any info. Proper dodgy if you ask me.

Definitely a rip-off! They even go as far as leaving a message on your phone, trying to come across as legit. Do yourself a favour and don’t bother ringing them back. Total **SCAM** and **CON**!

Got a call from someone saying they were an energy broker. Told me we had meters that were about to end their contract with British Gas, but we don’t have any like that at all. They were pushing this idea that we’re paying too much, something like 15p or whatever. Honestly, just cut them off - they haven't got a clue and it feels like a dodgy scam to me.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from an energy firm. I gave them a bogus account number just to see what’d happen. They got really annoyed and started saying I was wasting their time, but honestly, they were the ones wasting mine. Seriously, why can't these scam callers be blocked?

Got a voicemail from someone with an Indian accent, loads of background noise, asking to ring them back on a direct number. They didn’t say their name and messed up the company name in their message. They said it was really important but never mentioned what it was about or asked for a specific director. Seems like a scam to me, so I won’t be calling back.

Got a call about some energy deal, told them off and just ended the call.

There was this thick foreign accent on the line, and the caller wanted to chat with someone in our firm who I know isn’t here. They claimed to be from our energy provider, saying they had new rates for renewing our deal. I told them I wasn’t interested, but they kept pushing and even asked about how much energy we use. In the end, I just cut the call!

Got a voicemail from a person speaking with a really strong Indian accent, hard to catch what they said. After listening a few times, I finally made out they were asking about “our account” and wanted us to call them back. They didn’t say which company they were from, so I didn’t bother ringing back. Seems like it’s either just a cold caller or maybe even a scam.

Got a voicemail about an urgent business matter and knew it was probs a scam but thought I’d humour it. A lady with an Asian accent said her name was Tracy. I had to ring back on 01416286639 but made sure to hide my number first. When I asked what the company did, she said energy brokering. Nope, not interested. Then the original number rang up my mobile again - how did they get my number? Bit dodgy, if you ask me. Anyway, guess it’s time to block them for good.

My elderly neighbour got all flustered after getting a weird, muffled call she thought was from the hospital about an appointment. She was really stressed out because she couldn’t make sense of the message and thought it was an important admin call. Luckily, I found this site and used it to check the number, and turns out it was just a scam. I could calm her down and let her know everything was fine. Cheers for that!

Got a call from 01418461099, a woman speaking with a strong Asian accent claiming to work for some energy company called E2? She said she wanted to offer a quote for energy rates at our village hall. I told her I was having trouble understanding her and ended up hanging up.

Had an answerphone message from some utility broker with a really thick accent and I struggled to make out what they were saying. If they're hiring people who speak so unclearly, they lose me straight away. Seems like a recipe for confusion at best. I only deal with energy brokers through email personally - that way I’ve got it all down in black and white. These days, you just can’t trust verbal agreements, too many dodgy scams about. Anyway, I've blocked the number on my call guardian now.

Got a voicemail at my work around 6 last evening. Some lady was asking for Mrs something, but I couldn't catch her properly 'cause of her accent. She mentioned a hotel or sumthin, but we ain't no hotel. Looked up the number after and turns out it was spam, so I just deleted the message.

I got a call from a lady speaking with a strange accent, but there was so much noise in the background it was tough to catch what she was saying. She mentioned something about utility services connected to our business. When I asked if she was calling out of the blue, she admitted she was cold calling. I just said we didn’t want anything, and that was that.

This number has called me a few times now, three in total. Twice they were looking for someone who left the company ages ago. Every time I ask for an account password, then explain that whoever handles accounts here ain't gonna want to speak with them. Next week we've got a new phone system coming in that can spot and tag spam calls, so we’ll just block or put them on hold until they get the message they’re not getting through!

Our office got a call from this number, but it was dead quiet until I answered with a "hello." Right after, they transferred me to their call centre. A lady with a strong accent asked to speak to whoever handles the company's utilities. I put the call on hold and went back to my tasks, while having a bit of fun guessing how long they'd listen to hold music before giving up. No doubt, it was a scam!
