Just had some dodgy energy salespeople show up at my place, super pushy and wouldn’t take no for an answer. They asked for my mobile number and said if I get a text from them it means I could get cheaper rates. Then they gave me a number to call, but it’s definitely not a real energy company. Wouldn’t recommend ringing it at all!

Steer clear of any calls! If an individual knocks on your door claiming they can fix your energy rates, be wary - it’s likely a con! Avoid dialling this number or disclosing any personal information. Stay safe!

01417373485 - two women knocked on my door saying they were from So Energy and offered me a great rate. After checking this site, I saw others saying the same number was linked to Scottish Power, so now I’m convinced it’s some kind of scam. Same number but different companies - sounds fishy to me. The worst part is I actually went ahead and signed up, gave them bank info and all. Don’t trust these callers or these phone numbers. I’ve learnt my lesson the hard way and first thing tomorrow I’m phoning to get my details removed. Be careful out there!

I received a rather dubious call from those energy switch folks, and I’m left questioning whether they’re a genuine company or not. It's hard to shake off the feeling that something's a bit off with them.

Someone came round and started telling me they had details on how much my bills were gonna rise. They managed to get hold of my mobile number by saying they’d text me contact info for a cheaper energy provider. After that, they said I had to call the number myself and fib to whoever picked up, saying I was switching providers. Then they actually dialled the number on my phone and asked me to put it on speaker so they could listen in. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

I got a call from 01417374295, but when I rang 01417373485 back, they said they can help find a better deal on gas and electric in just a minute's chat. Bit confusing with the numbers, but worth a quick call if you want to save.

Got a message from this number, it turns out it was a door-to-door salesman trying to convince me to switch my gas and electric over to Scottish Power. Bloody annoying.

Well, something rather peculiar transpired today that’s been weighing heavily on my mind! A chap approached me, insisting on my name, date of birth, and phone number, which struck me as rather odd. He then requested that I fetch my phone to check for a text message, only to follow up by asking me to dial his number and put it on loudspeaker so he could verify his presence at my doorstep. After he confirmed, off he went. Now, I've been with SSE for a solid nine years, paying my energy bills weekly through direct debit, yet this fellow on the phone insisted that I was already with Scottish Power, which I firmly denied. He wouldn’t hear a word of it! To top it all off, he claimed he couldn’t assist me in finding a more economical energy provider before promptly hanging up... thank goodness for that! Then, my elderly neighbour knocked on my door, excitedly telling me that she'd discovered a cheaper energy deal that wouldn’t require her to start payments until February! Wouldn’t you know it, just as I was preparing dinner at 6pm, that same man turned up at my home once more! And then, as I took my dog out for a stroll at 7:30pm, there he was, lingering around in the street! Something about the entire situation feels decidedly off to me! Quite the odd set of circumstances, if you ask me!

I’m not entirely convinced it’s a scam, but I had an odd encounter at my front door with a young lady who was inquiring about my energy provider. She wouldn’t budge until I shared my name and phone number. Then, she insisted on making sure I’d received a text message she sent. It got a bit ridiculous as she wouldn’t leave until I dialled the number in the text, and even when I tried to feign a disconnection, she urged me to call back. It was only when a rather thick Geordie chap on the line asked if his colleague was with me that she finally decided to take off. To get rid of her, I had to pretend I was completely hopeless with bills and that my partner would have to assist me, which was a bit of a stretch. I promised I’d ring back when my partner was about. I’ve since blocked that number and binned the text because it clearly wasn’t linked to Scottish Power, as claimed.

I find myself in a rather similar predicament here in Liverpool. Foolishly, I shared my details after calling a number that turned out to be dubious. I feigned ignorance during the call, but after just three minutes, I switched off my phone. This chap then showed up at my doorstep, promising to return, but I had no intention of opening the door again. He’s attempted to knock three times an hour, leaving me quite on edge. Honestly, I fear I may have fallen victim to some sort of scam, which has placed me in a rather precarious situation. I called back to demand my personal details be removed and even threatened to involve the police. I’m genuinely shaken by this whole experience!

I had a similar experience, and it left me feeling quite anxious. Did you ever hear from them again? I'm genuinely a bit apprehensive about it.
