I’ve been wondering the exact same thing, cause the same bloke and woman keep calling but now from numbers all over, from Glasgow right down to London. It’s like the phone companies are somehow involved or at least turning a blind eye to this dodgy setup.

It's mad how these scammers manage to spoof numbers all over the place, from London right up to Glasgow. How do they even pull that off? Makes you wonder how they can switch area codes so easily and still fool people.

I received a pre-recorded message from what appeared to be a fake HMRC number, urging me to hit 1 to get in touch with my case officer about my alleged tax evasion. Definitely a scam! It’s a perilous phishing attempt!

As soon as I picked up, I ended the call. Pretty sure it was just some scammer ringing from India. I don’t get how they manage to have the number show up as if it’s actually from the UK though!
