I received a call from someone claiming to be with TPS, offering me a service aimed at curbing pesky telemarketing calls. However, when I politely declined, he turned quite confrontational and seemed rather put out.

Some bloke said he was calling from the telephone preference service and asked if I get loads of annoying calls. When I told him I’m already signed up with the TPS and recently activated BT’s blocking, he got really pushy. He tried to sell me his own service that would block nuisance calls but wanted me to pay for it. I said no and he sounded proper annoyed about it.
