On 5th October 2025, I got a call from 01416739086 at around 6 in the morning on my phone. I didn’t pick up since I was still asleep, but then the same number rang on my home phone. Woke me up but I just ignored it. I usually don’t pick up unknown numbers anyway. Got it blocked now.

Some bloke rang me up using my name, saying I'd been in a little accident. I asked when it supposedly happened, and he said it was last year. I told him I hadn't had any accident and that he must've got the wrong person, then he just hung up on me.

Got a call from 0141 673 1442, said it was from "claimsdirect uk". Was definitely a scam, trying to get me to make some kind of claim. I told them I’m on the TPS list and then just hung up and blocked the number. Total waste of time!

Someone pretending to be from a legal team rang up about a small car accident. Said they found my number through the Motor Insurance Bureau. When I told them the person they were after had passed away (which wasn’t true), they suddenly got really awkward and unsure of what to say next.

Claiming for an accident. I told the bloke a flying pig dropped from the sky and squashed me in my car, like I was dead. He goes, “Nah, not that one, the one from ages ago.” I’m like, mate, the pig flattened me, I’m done for! He just kept saying, “No, the one before that.” Proper daft if you ask me. Anyway, I’ve reported the number.

Some bloke wanted me to talk to Miss "My First Name" or summat. Got a ring from this number earlier, someone asking if a chap named Crossley was at this number. I kept quiet about my own name, which is obviously what they're after. What they do is use your name to call you back later. Like, they’ll ask, “Is this Mr Crossley?” you reply “No, it’s Mr Smith.” Then next time they call, they’ll ask straight for Mr Smith. Before you know it, they’ve got both your name and your number. Bit sneaky if you ask me.
