Got a call from a lady with a really strong Indian accent claiming to be from some "refund department." I asked her who was calling, a bit sarcastically, and she just ended the call straight away. Pretty sure it was just some scammers from overseas trying to get my bank info. Typical third world scam stuff.

this number rang me but when I tried to answer they just cut off. earlier today, I got another call from a different number with a recorded message about a supposed £900 payment on my visa that i should stop by pressing 1. it seems like getting two scam calls close together is pretty common now, like the first call tests if you’ll answer, and the next tries to scam you proper.

I answered pretty quickly but there was nothing but silence on the other end before the call ended. I reckon someone else got it initially. These sorts of calls seem to ring lots of phones at once and whoever answers first gets connected. It’s really irritating, especially since they tend to call early when we’re still in bed. I’m retired, and my wife, who had a brain haemorrhage, often starts work late in the morning. These interruptions really mess with her rest, and if she doesn’t sleep well, her head really suffers because of her condition.

Got a call from a woman with an accent claiming I was due a refund from Sky. She asked me to give my full card information to transfer £250 to my bank. I just laughed and told her to get lost.

Got a call saying my internet would be cut off in a day due to some illegal stuff, then they told me to press 1 to check it out. Seemed fishy to me.

About 15 minutes ago, I got a call which sounded automated. It said something about big payments made on my visa card and told me to pick one of three options - like checking transactions today, stopping them, or something else. The instructions were way too quick to follow. I ended the call and looked at my bank statement but couldn’t find any unusual activity. I'm pretty sure it was a scam.
