Just got a call claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse but it felt like a total scam. Be careful, folks!

Got a call from someone claiming I’d won a year-long 40% discount with O2, which struck me as odd since they don’t usually just give stuff away like that. He followed up with a couple of texts - one warning about scammers, and the other with a code - but these texts never showed up in my normal message inbox. When I asked for more details, he said he’d pass me to his manager. Then there was a quick clicking sound and suddenly the same person was posing as this manager. I called him out on it, mentioning the click was way too quick for a proper transfer. After that, he just hung up. Pretty certain it was a scam, probably aiming to get into my account to ‘modify payments’ or something along those lines.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with O2. I'm not an O2 customer, so pretty sure it was just a random cold call.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be from O2. I told them O2 only phones you once your contract's up and I'm from Manchester, so I guessed he was trying to pull a scam. Ended the call after that. Looking back, I was way too polite - shoulda just told him off straight away!

I ended the call with a cold caller, and they actually rang me back asking why I had hung up on them.

Got a call from some bloke who said his name was Jordan, which I’m pretty sure was a load of rubbish. Claimed he was ringing from MMS, whatever that is. When I asked him to clarify who he really was, he just went and hung up on me.
