Got a call from someone acting like they were with the council’s forced entry squad, telling me they’d break my door down if I didn’t let an “engineer” into my flat. I ended up letting the bloke in, thinking he was some kind of proper gas inspector. Now I’ve saved this number along with about five others, all pretending to be from different places like councils or legal offices. It’s definitely fishy.
