I got a call from someone saying they were from "British Gas," and they claimed they weren’t trying to sell me anything. They even knew my address, which was a bit creepy. When I said I wasn’t interested, the person got quite rude.

Received a call regarding ‘my account with *some* energy supplier’ - definitely not a provider I’m associated with, so I promptly ended the call and added the number to my block list.

I received a call that had me rather concerned. The caller seemed to have all of my information and was chatting away about Octopus Energy as if they were authentic representatives. However, when they requested my bank details, including my sort code and account number, I found myself questioning the legitimacy of the call. I inquired as to why they didn’t already possess my information, and suddenly they claimed to be from a completely different company I’d never encountered before! Quite suspicious, wouldn’t you say? I firmly stated that I wouldn’t be sharing any of my personal details and that I would contact Octopus directly instead. At that point, they abruptly ended the call!
