They said they were from CLAIMS DIRECT, but it was total rubbish. I rang Claims Direct on their real number straight away and they confirmed they don’t do any cold calling. Typical scam stuff. I reported these fraudsters to the UK Information Commissioner. Sounds like some dodgy car accident insurance scam or trying to drum up sales leads.

Just got a call! STAY COOL AND PASS IT ON! ?? Seems like 01416115162 is linked to one of those fake car insurance scams, where they claim you or someone close to you was in a crash. Someone from Road Traffic Management called about a supposed accident we had. Hung up straight away and going to report them. Got a call from someone claiming to be with 'Road claims direct' about an accident I was supposedly in. I kept asking 'which one?' and they kept saying it was the one involving me or a family member recently. I asked 'which one?' again and they said something like 'the one where you got hit from the side or behind.' I just kept saying 'which one?' and they ended up repeating their script from the start while I stayed silent. Eventually I heard the caller say 'hello? hello? can you hear me?' and then they gave up and hung up. Pretty satisfying!

You really need to report these calls and messages to the police or NFIB via 'Action Fraud'. Simply blocking them doesn’t help much since they ring you from loads of different numbers, many of which are fake or spoofed. Also, blocking services usually have a maximum number of calls they can block, after that they just don’t do anything. Scammers know this and take advantage! The only real way to put a stop to it is by reporting it properly to Action Fraud.
