Got a call from a guy calling himself Peter, said he was some kind of 'technical supervisor'. He claimed he could remotely get into my computer without me knowing.
He said he wanted to help fix my computer issues.
Really, the plan was to either mess up my PC or trick me into deleting important stuff so he could then charge me to sort it out.
I kept him on the line for over 15 minutes, acting clueless. Told him I didn't even know which operating system I had, joked that I only had one finger so couldn’t press the 'flag key and R' together to open run, and I couldn’t find ‘run’ or ‘my computer’ anywhere.
Eventually I had to stop because I was at work and didn’t want to upset my boss wasting too much time. I put him on hold for about 5 mins - then he just hung up.
Well at least that’s about 20 mins he wasn’t trying to con some elderly person or someone less aware.
