I looked up a number that was just two digits different from this one 0141 536 0366, which is also listed as a Glasgow contact. Given that, I reckon it’s connected to some kind of scam. I didn’t pick up since I’m based in Falkirk - wouldn’t expect a call from Glasgow anyway. Bit strange really.

Got a call from someone saying they were Virgin, telling me there was a problem with our router. They kept asking stuff like "Have you shared your password?" and "Are all the lights on?" which was odd since there’s only one light on our box. Yeah right, like Virgin would be that careful! Total scam, but I guess some folks who aren’t so good with tech might actually believe it, so I gave it a low rating.

Got a call earlier from this number claiming to be Virgin Media. The guy was saying that every time I use the internet, someone’s trying to get into my PC. Some bloke rang me claiming to be from Virgin Media, telling me my internet speeds were rubbish and asked how many gadgets I had connected. I asked straight away, "Where exactly are you calling from?" and he insisted, “Virgin Media”. I told him my internet's working just fine, no issues at all. Then he just hung up on me. 😂 Absolutely mad! Oh, and I've blocked the number since.

Received a ring from someone claiming to be with Open Reach, supposedly working for my internet company. I chatted with her for a bit and made it clear I won’t let them in. Then she went on about how she already had my bank info and was gonna drain my account. She even bragged about having my direct debit from my provider. I just received a rather peculiar call on my landline from 0141 5360863. A woman with an Indian accent introduced herself as being from VM. She proceeded to inquire about the number of lights flashing on my router and which ones were static. Then, out of the blue, she asked what devices I currently had plugged in. When I cheekily mentioned my yacht and helicopter, she seemed to take offence and abruptly terminated the call. Quite amusing, really-definitely a scam!

I saw the number but didn’t know who it was, so I let it ring until it sent me to voicemail, yet no message was recorded. On Monday, they kept calling me once every hour, three times in total. If it was something urgent, I’m sure they would’ve left a voicemail. Sounds like a classic scam to me.

Got a call on my landline from a man with a Pakistani accent who said his name was Martin Williams. Claimed he was ringing from Virgin Media and warned me about attacks on my IP address. When my partner mentioned he was about to get onto Virgin Media himself to check the guy’s details, the caller suddenly ended the call. Definitely seemed dodgy to me.

Some bloke pretending to be from Virgin Media rang me, but he was all over the place and I couldn’t make out what he was saying. So I told him off pretty sharp, asking what the hell he wanted. Next thing, he just slammed the phone down. Looks like a classic scam - trying to get you to download dodgy stuff and then demand cash. Virgin never rings you out of the blue about internet issues, they just ignore you until you ring them first.

I haven’t answered, but this number has ringed me like 4 times today. Also, Virgin keep calling me loads this week too.

Got a call from 01415360863 a minute ago, some bloke with an Eastern accent said someone’s been messing with our Virgin account, even had our password or something. Didn’t bother listening, just hung up straight away.

I got a call from someone saying they were from the Technical Dept, checking out some broadband problem in my area. They asked me to describe the lights on my router - which were on, blinking, or off. When I asked who they were working for, they said BT Openreach. Thing is, I’m not with BT at all. They told me BT Openreach is like the main network for all broadband companies, like Sky, Virgin, Talk Talk, no matter who you pay. Didn’t quite ring right to me, so I ended the call.

I tried calling them back from a different number and they just cut off straight away. Feels like some sort of automated system making the calls, then dropping them after about 20 seconds before moving on. If you pick up before it ends, they start saying rubbish about Virgin Media, but last week it was something to do with Microsoft, I reckon.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent, said he was from Virgin Media talking about my internet. Thing is, I don't even have Virgin Media, so I told him it sounded dodgy. Then he went on and said he wasn’t trying to scam me and called me a ####. Proper rude.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Virgin Media. They didn’t bother asking for any details to confirm who I was or my account info. They said there was some dodgy activity happening on my internet from folks outside my home, and that they’d cut off my connection unless I updated my internet settings with them. Something felt off straight away, so I politely refused. After searching the number they’d called from, I’m relieved I didn’t fall for it.

When I picked up, the person claimed to be from Virgin Media saying there were issues with my broadband and that they could sort it out free of charge. They asked me to download an app on my phone so they could fix the problem remotely. The catch is, I don’t even have Virgin Media, so allowing them access to my phone would only have let them take my info. I told them straight up I knew it was a scam and they just hung up. Just a heads up to watch out for calls like this!

So I got a phone call from a bloke who said he was Rodger from Virgin Media. He was telling me my internet was about to be cut off. But seeing as I don’t even have Virgin Media, I realised straight away it was dodgy. He asked me if I knew about it, and when I just said "great," he hung up on me.

I've received calls from this number thrice now. The first time, they simply hung up as soon as I picked up. The second call was from someone claiming to be from Virgin, wanting to verify my internet connection. When they asked for my name, they seemed unable to provide their own and hung up again. Then, today (22/02/22) at 13:59, I got another call from the same number. They started their nonsense, so I cheekily asked how much their mum charged for a rather unsavoury service, but they didn't seem to grasp my question. Honestly, they sounded like they could be affiliated with some extremist group!

I received a rather dodgy call from someone claiming to be from Virgin Media. They instructed me to search for my IP address on Google, which turns up as IPv4 Address 66.249.66.201; apparently linked to a location in Mountain View, California. They were insinuating that someone over there was somehow using my internet connection without my consent! To make matters worse, they tried to persuade me to install TeamViewer QuickSupport and share my security code with them. I've got in touch with Virgin Media to verify the situation, and they promised to follow up with me. Fortunately, since they couldn't access my passcode, they weren't able to compromise my mobile at all!

What a dodgy situation! I've received a call claiming to be from Virgin Mobile, but I highly suspect it's a scam. This person is definitely not who they say they are. Best to keep your cards close to your chest! Just inform them that you’ll reach out to Virgin Mobile through official channels if you need anything.

I got a call from 01415360863 and when I picked up, it was completely silent. Just before that, I had another call from a withheld number, I answered it even though I wasn’t sure who it was. Then this number called me, and some guy with a heavy accent started yelling on the phone saying my internet was hacked or something. Didn’t bother to say anything back, just ended the call straight away.

Oh, tell me about it! This morning at a quarter to nine, my sleep was rudely interrupted by a call that turned out to be nothing but utter silence on the other end. Received a call from Virgin Media, claiming my IP wasn't secure and that folks in different countries were tapping into it. I suspected it was a scam immediately, so I decided to keep him chatting for a while just to fritter away his time. When I pressed him for details about my account, like the name on it, he insisted he had the info but first needed to 'secure my line' before sharing anything. At that point, I just hung up.
