Received an irritating call concerning a car crash, but the trouble is, I don’t even drive! Got fed up and decided to block this number.

Got a call claiming I was in a road accident, they must have just guessed a name cos I’m definitely not John. I gave them some made-up details to mess with them. They asked stuff like which street, when it happened, which side of the car got hit, if it’s repaired, how fast I was going, and the number plate. Probably more questions after that, but when I checked the fake plate number they gave me, I ended the call. They called a couple more times after that. These people are dodgy as hell, best not to share any real info.

I received a dodgy call regarding an accident that I’ve neither had nor witnessed, and they were fishing for my bank details. What’s really unsettling is that they used my actual name. Quite concerning, to say the least.

What a despicable individual! This scammer clearly lacks any shred of decency. He contacted my mum under the pretense of discussing a supposed car crash I was involved in. He had the nerve to request my bank information, claiming he was affiliated with an insurance company wanting to send me a payout. Thankfully, my mother is quite anti-bank and doesn’t keep that information on hand, so she didn’t fall for his deceitful ruse.

this guy started off talking in some language i didn’t understand, then he claimed to be from british telecom. he went on about how my internet had been spotty and that others were apparently leeching off it. he asked me to get on my phone or computer, but i just said no thanks and ended the call before blocking the number.

Just got a call from this number and another one right before it, but I was driving so couldn’t pick up. When I checked my phone later, the first call was from someone pushing insurance - I didn’t bother calling back. Seeing the comments here, I might give this one a ring, though.

When I probed for clarification about their information source and their identity, the caller became quite defensive. Before I knew it, she just cut the line!
