Got a call from an Asian bloke claiming to be from Virgin Media saying my service would be disconnected today. Since Virgin never rings like that, I asked him for my account number and he just hung up. I just had a rather dodgy call claiming to be from Virgin Media’s security team. I told him straight off that I’m not a Virgin Media customer and to remove my number from their list. He then went on about chatting with my wife regarding some installation in a room, which struck me as nonsense. It soon dawned on me that it was a scam, so I firmly told him to get lost!

I received a rather peculiar call from a chap named Steve, claiming to be from Virgin Media. He went on and on about my router in quite a disjointed fashion. Every time I attempted to interject or inquire about the purpose of his call, he simply continued his monologue uninterrupted. This occurred on the 15th of October, 2021, at approximately 09:42. Fast forward to today at 12:08, and lo and behold, the same fellow, using the same number, rang me up again and resumed his incessant chatter. I must say, I decided enough was enough and hung up both times. I've also made sure to report this odd behaviour to Virgin Media.

Best not to pick up. It’s pretty clear they’re doing some kind of harassing or scam calls, pretending to be about Broadband. What bugs me most is that a real Virgin engineer came to fix an issue at mine, and then the next day I’m getting loads of these annoying calls on my home phone. Some bloke with an Indian accent and rubbish English rang up claiming he was from Virgin, saying there was dodgy stuff happening on my line and that my IP address was being misused. I asked him to give me my name and account info, and he said he had it all but wanted me to log into my router first. I then asked him how he could live with himself doing this - he just hung up. If I wasn’t busy, I’d have kept him on the line just to waste his time, that’s the only way to handle these scammers.

I received a phone call from this woman insisting that my subscription was set to cost £79.99. I felt a bit dubious since Amazon has never contacted me directly about any such matter. So, whilst amusingly leading her on, I did a quick search and stumbled upon this site. I kept up the charade, and she directed me to a webpage called Anydesk, where I cheekily provided her with a code, but it was the incorrect one, of course. I couldn’t help but chuckle, which evidently irritated her greatly. Just before she hung up, she muttered some rather unsavoury words. It's always a laugh to toy with them, isn’t it? Haha!

Someone called saying they were from Amazon, telling me I’d be charged £80 to renew my subscription. They kept asking if I had a computer and told me to download some app on my phone. I asked why I couldn’t just do it through Amazon’s website and the woman assured me it was totally safe. I almost got fooled coz I’d just woken up. Luckily, I hung up, blocked the number and deleted the app straight away. They phoned me like 5 times in two days. Pretty sure they wanted to get remote access to my phone.
