I received a voicemail stating that my national insurance number was set to be put on hold.

For a moment I was a bit worried, but I ended the call quickly. Then I thought about it properly - things like this only ever come from the Department for Work and Pensions or via official government channels if you’re on benefits, definitely not some automated message on a Saturday. The idea they can ‘suspend your National Insurance Number’ is just ridiculous. Only someone clueless about what an NI number is would fall for that. They’re just preying on folks who might not know better!

Someone rang claiming to be from the National Crime Agency and told me they’d block my NI number. I didn’t bother listening after that!
