I received a rather peculiar call today. The individual on the other end had a thick accent that was quite unmistakably not Scottish. He claimed to represent my internet security department, which I found odd since I don’t actually have any such service. When I inquired further, he abruptly ended the call. Quite clearly, it was a scam attempt!

Received a call from someone with a foreign accent inquiring about a Mr Mark. However, my first name is different from my surname, which I found a bit odd. I decided to hang up and block the number. I’d suggest steering clear of this one!

I just answered and they disconnected right away. From all the other reviews here, seems like this caller is quite a pain - there really needs to be some proper laws to crack down on these spam calls.

Got a call from someone wanting to sell me a phone contract for £25 a month with unlimited calls, texts, and loads of data. After I politely said I was fine with my current provider, he jokingly told me I'd die young. I just wished him all the best for the future.

Got a missed call from Glasgow, Scotland and of course had to look it up! I’ve blocked the number now. Honestly, don’t call back unknown numbers, just google them first to see if they’re dodgy. If it’s a scam or something, just block and move on - way easier and saves a load of stress.

I'm based in North Wales. The woman on the phone talked really fast and had a thick foreign accent that was hard to understand. Eventually, I asked if she was on a mobile, and I said no (I’d actually answered on my iPad) and told her I wasn't interested in chatting. I kept it quite polite, and she just said okay, goodbye. Probably just trying to earn a bit of money, I guess. I should have told her to slow down so I could get what she wanted, but honestly, no clue what her purpose was. I’m not dealing with cold callers again, that’s for sure.
