As soon as I picked up, the woman launched into a spiel about offering cheap energy right away. When she stopped for a breath, I told her it was time to hang up. She asked me what for, and I explained it was an unwelcome call and they probably got my number through dodgy means. To her credit, she promised to remove my details from their list and ended the chat politely. Still, I made sure to block the number afterwards. If this was one of those cold call sales roles, it’s exactly the kind Rishi Sunak calls unsustainable.
