Got a voicemail from some guy chatting about his private bits, sounded like he had an Indian accent. When they finally picked up next time, I told one of the callers what the message was about. I get the feeling these calls claim to be from a charity gathering donations for kids in struggling countries. But honestly, it’s risky to hand over money to anyone who rings you out of the blue. You never really know who’s on the other end of the line. Usually, if you want to donate, you contact the charity yourself after doing some research. For helping children, I’m familiar with "Save the Children.org". Even if someone says they’re from that group, they can't really prove their identity over the phone. Best to tell them you’ll get back in touch when you decide to support them, at your own convenience.

Please don’t pick up if this number rings you, they mark your number as live and most likely pass it on to other annoying scammers - same old debt collectors and rubbish like that. They do have a freephone you can ring, 0800 0699303, just call and tell them to take your details off their list. They’re supposed to do it by law, but if they ignore you, definitely report them to OFT.

Got a call from this number at about 4.25pm but I didn’t pick up. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend asking to be removed from their list, it could be a trick - maybe even them putting fake posts on here like that dept master guy. They probably just swap your number around as one that’s active. I just go ahead and block the number straight from my phone settings.
