Surely one of those call centres, with loads of noise in the background. The lady calling didn’t speak English fluently and was quite hard to understand. She mentioned some ‘recent minor car accident’ I supposedly had - which was about 10 years ago! I told her I wasn’t interested, and then she snapped back with ‘just let me finish’ sounding really annoyed before hanging up. Blocked straight away. Pretty obvious this was a dodgy outfit working off some very outdated info.

I received a rather peculiar phone call earlier today from someone claiming to represent an accident claims company. When I requested her to clarify the name of the business, I couldn't quite catch it, and in my attempt to echo it back, she became quite irate. She raised her voice, insisting I should allow her to finish speaking before abruptly disconnecting the call. Typically, I wouldn't entertain such calls, but the fact that the number had a local area code caught my attention. After doing a quick search, it seems this number is linked to a dubious operation targeting individuals about accidents they’ve never been involved in, and they don’t shy away from a confrontation if you challenge them. Moreover, she outright refused to take my details off their contact list, brushing aside GDPR regulations. Strangely, she also addressed me by name during the conversation.

Got a call from a firm we’ve never heard of, claiming there’d been some sort of road accident. They didn’t even ask for anyone by name and when I asked about the details of the incident, they couldn’t provide a single thing, asking me instead. They clearly had no proper info. When I requested they delete our number under the Data Protection rules, they flat out refused. I ended the call, and they rang us back immediately. Definitely a bit pushy, that lot.
