SCAM ALERT. When I confronted them, they just laughed and bragged about how well off they are, claiming they’re not affected by the cost of living crisis and even bought a brand new BMW M3 - all because no one is stopping them. 🤬 The Police told me to spread the word on social media and get as many people as possible to share it, so more folks know what to watch out for with these scams. Apparently, they've stolen hundreds of thousands of pounds in just the last month alone, the Police said.

Someone rang and asked for me by name, but I didn’t say anything to confirm. I asked who was calling, and they just said they were trying to find me. Then they quickly said it was a wrong number. When I asked who they actually were, they just said goodbye and ended the call. It’s clear they’d got my name and number from somewhere, but they wouldn’t say who they were or how they had my details.

Insulation scam alert! A woman called asking how old my loft insulation was, saying I could get a grant. She said she was from Loft Insulation Scotland but hung up straight away when I asked for a contact number. There is a legit scheme run by the Scottish Government, but it’s only for certain people and linked to heat pump installation - they check your eligibility first. Definitely felt dodgy to me.

Got a call from a woman saying she was from Loft Survey Scotland - which I later found out isn’t a real firm. She wanted info about my insulation age, saying I might qualify for a grant to replace it. But the only legit scheme I know in Scotland is through the Scottish Government alongside Heat Pump installs, and you have to pass certain income criteria. When I asked for a number to ring her back, she just ended the call. Definitely be wary of them!
