I received a call from someone claiming to represent the technical team at Microsoft, insisting they'd identified several problems on my computer. This number rang me up four times today, saying they were Lending Stream. The guy on the other end had a strong Indian accent. When I told him I looked up Lending Stream's number and it was different from the one he was using, he claimed it wasn’t their main line. I kept pressing him to give me their actual contact number, thinking if he really worked there, he’d know it offhand. After I asked the fifth time he just cut me off. Certainly felt dodgy to me.

Someone rang up saying they were from the Windows tech support team at Microsoft. I wouldn’t give them any details about my computer. They tried to convince me they were legit by telling me my PC ID, which sounded quite convincing but turned out to be completely wrong. When I tried calling the number back, it didn’t even show up as a valid number. I still have no idea who actually called me.
