I got a call saying I owe cash and they even gave the account number from my service provider, but never mentioned who they were. They wanted me to ring them back on this number to fix the balance. It’s pretty creepy how they’ve got my account details without me knowing anything about them!

I picked up the phone and some bloke kept saying 'hang up, hang up, hang up' over and over. I said hello a couple more times and then he asked if he was talking to me by my last name only. Didn’t ask for my first name or anything. Claimed he was from eon next, which I’ve never dealt with before. He started asking for my address and phone number, so I told him again I’m not with eon next. Then he kept pushing for more personal info, so I just ended the call.

Got a call saying they were from E-ON about a smart meter with PAYG. At first, I didn't realise it was a scam and actually gave out some property info. So, it turns out this isn’t a scam at all. I rang EON using the contact number from their official site after getting calls from this number asking for money and personal info. They told me it’s a legitimate debt collector working for EON. Seems like you might really owe them something. If you’re unsure, just give EON a direct call to check it out yourself.

Got a call from someone pretending to be E-on Next - one of the sneakiest scams I’ve come across. They already knew my full name, account details, and even my current balance. It’s definitely Eon - got a text from them with the exact balance I owe after switching, plus my account number and the phone number they were calling from. Honestly, I’d say it’s harassment because they kept ringing even after I told them when I’d pay, and then again once I’d sorted the payment. But I kept it as ‘neutral’ since they clearly aren’t scammers, knowing all my details. Still, they’re proper irritating.
